The handle and shaft of our umbrellas are made from a single branch. The shaft diameter is ideal at 18 mm, achieving both elegance and robustness. This type of umbrella with these characteristics is considered the "Rolls-Royce" of umbrellas. A technique that has been perfected over centuries and requires a great deal of experience. The shafts are unbreakable and extremely windproof. Thanks to their flexibility, they can also be used as a walking stick.
Customized and Yours
Each umbrella has a customisable nameplate, made of polished stainless steel and located on the handle. The owner can inscribe his or her name and telephone number or anything else he or she wishes. A service provided by SCHARLAU at no extra cost.
Unique and authentic
The one-piece handle and shaft are made from 3-year-old shoots. These shoots come from 100-year-old sustainable chestnut (Castanea sativa) plantations in England. This gives the umbrella an extremely beautiful, unique and authentic look. Not to be confused with the one-piece handle and shaft made from timber boards.

That's why every SCHARLAU umbrella is equipped with an electronic alarm featuring geolocation and Bluetooth. Once you have downloaded the app on your mobile phone, you will receive an alert should you and your umbrella be parted.
